Monday I got a slow start because of a late night Sunday, but I managed to be pretty productive, getting some computer stuff done. I looked up materials for one of Sunshine’s classes (Shakespeare) then pulled out the cutting dies I bought three months ago but never had time to do anything with. I’m not super happy with the crane one as the stitch holes don’t line up properly. I couldn’t find one that did line up properly, but I did find some other dies to order. Looking at the dies I’d ordered three months ago, I remembered that I’d planned on making some cord keepers to sell as well as adding more pocket pals to the lineup. So that got added to my pre-conference to-do list.

I worked on the flyer for the conference then went to Scouts in the evening. Jeremy arrived home from his training exercise about an hour and a half before we needed to leave for Scouts. At Scouts I delivered the custom order mobility chair pocket to one of the moms at Scouts. We’re both happy with how it turned out.

I felt pretty good Monday afternoon- not tired or anything. However, I’d taken my meds on the late side and ended up having trouble going to sleep that night. I hit the 8 week mark on Saturday since starting the new med, but I still have a week or so before I hit 8 weeks at this dose (or higher, since I was on that one for 3 weeks or so before going back down). Monday afternoon was the first time I really felt much difference. The last two months have been so rough that I haven’t noticed any difference at all. While my blood pressure and heart rate issues are improving, they’re still an issue. I don’t think it’s worth staying on the meds, but I need to discuss it with my sleep doc.

Tuesday we went to music lessons. Jeremy spent more than an hour on the phone with Verizon, trying to get our billing issues resolved, but wasn’t able to completely resolve the issue since they needed to do some digging on their end to find out why our bill ended up as messed up as it was. (they were charging us for 6 phone lines instead of 3, the plan rates were way off, etc)

I almost finalized my flyer design, but I need a new product photo for one side, which I’m planning on doing on Friday, then I can send off the flyer to be printed. I started cutting some corner bookmarks from scrap leather, then we went to karate. It was a tough class with lots of intensity and holding stances as we worked our way through universal 7. It left me tired, a bit shaky, and remembering that I lost a lot of fitness this summer.

pile of leather spaghetti after trimming long straps for foraging buckets

Wednesday morning I took my meds for the last time. I had planned to stick it out a bit longer, but I just felt too crummy all day and decided enough was enough.

Despite feeling crummy, I did cut some leather.

That evening we went to my accountability partner’s house for a potluck and presentation on what to have in an herbal medicine cabinet.

Thursday I wasn’t feeling great, so I stayed in bed all morning, then worked on tags and labels for new and updated products in the afternoon. I cut and oiled straps for foraging bags, then went to dinner with Jeremy for our anniversary. He was gone for most of our anniversaries the first 15 or so years (he was only home for 1 or 2 of them), so having him home for our anniversaries the last 5 or 6 years has been nice, though also means we actually have to do something for our anniversary, which feels kind of weird.

After dinner I cut, riveted, and installed a buckle on the long strap of the foraging bucket so it’s ready for the photo shoot Friday. I was still feeling really tired and wiped out, but I needed to get it done. I didn’t take the new meds that morning, but it’ll take awhile to get them out of my system. My current exhaustion is probably related to my period (I just started, and I know it affects my narcolepsy) and adjusting to being more physically active. I’m mentally in such a better place (wanting to work, etc), but physically I’m still struggling to keep up and not feeling great.

Friday I went for a hike with friends where I did some product photography and we played in the river. I wasn’t completely happy with the photos, but they’re ok. When we got home, I finalized my flyer and sending it off to be printed. I also placed orders for tags and labels, shirts, stickers, etc. I was super tired and Jeremy was wiped out after spending the day doing mandatory fun for work and keeping an eye on his team’s comings and going as the senior member, so we skipped karate.

Saturday we got a late start, but Jeremy and the kids cleaned the cars in and out while I cut leather for kits. I really want to get an actual clicker press as soon as I can afford it. It’ll be so much quicker than the hand-pumped hydraulic press I’m using now.
