Monday I prepped nearly 40 canvases with gesso.
Tuesday after music lessons I cut vinyl, put each vinyl set on a canvas, then painted two thin coats of white paint on top of the vinyl. I ended up just using some flat ceiling paint we had sitting around.
We did some karate practice, then went to class.
Wednesday during my accountability call I realized part of my problem getting going on pinterest/social media is a subconscious block about putting myself out there and the fear of rejection. If they’re rejecting the stuff I make, they’re rejecting me. Not really, but that’s how my brain is looking at it.
I went to bed earlier than usual that night, but woke up more times than I have in a long time, so it was not a great night’s sleep.
Thursday morning I went for a run with Max. I’d heard a lot of sirens out on the main road while I was getting ready, but didn’t think too much of it until we got to the intersection of our little gravel road and the paved road it connects to. It runs parallel to the main road and people use it as an alternative route when there’s an accident on the main road, like that morning. Despite the massive backup of traffic, I joined the mess and then proceeded to spend 25 minutes inching along what is usually a 4 minute drive. Max was not impressed and kept sighing. We finally made it out to the intersection with the main road and traffic was clear- everyone would have done better to just wait for the accident to get cleaned up.
We eventually made it to the park and ran on frozen trails to the sound of chainsaws clearing fallen trees. We still had to so some over/unders where trees hadn’t been cleared yet, but the parks department is on top of things. My foot didn’t hurt while I was running, but it was a bit sore afterwards.
After my chiropractic appointment I iced my foot and rested since I was tired from the run and too many nights of poor sleep. We have another storm in the forecast for Sunday and VDOT has already started pre-treating the roads.
That evening we had our YW annual meeting (what used to be called New Beginnings). The YW did most of the work, and did a great job at it, and everyone had fun painting the canvases I’d prepared. It was fun to see all the different designs everyone came up with. Unfortunately, I did a lot of standing and my foot was not happy by the time we got home. I iced my foot again and laid on the BioMat for awhile before going to bed at a decent time.
Friday we had play group at church since it was cold and windy. Afterwards I prepped an order to take to the post office. Just before I left, another order come in, so I prepped that one quickly so I could ship it at the same time as the other one since we have another storm coming Sunday and there’s no guarantees that the roads will be clear and the power on on Monday.
My foot wasn’t happy again after karate, but that’s nothing new.
Saturday I did some grocery shopping since Monday would be my usual day and I was expecting the roads to be bad. There weren’t as many people at the store as I feared, but there were still a good number and a lot of random shelves were cleared out. Kroger didn’t have any apples or potatoes, but they had lots of onions.
I had energy after I got home, so I took Max for a run, which she fully appreciated. Afterwards we did some storm prep. We pulled the generator out of the shed and put it in the recycling shed so it would be easily accessible if needed. Then we patched the bathroom skylight on the RV roof. A branch fell on it during the last storm and broke both layers of the skylight, but we had just noticed the damage when Jeremy had gone into the RV to check things. We’ll need to replace the skylight, but hopefully the patch job will hold up in the meantime.
My lungs were not happy that day. Between running in the cold and then working on the RV without a coat on (it was colder than I thought it would be). My foot was also really not happy after all the karate, standing, and running I did this week. But with more snow in the forecast, Max really needed some exercise, so the running really wasn’t optional.
