Monday I did some more post catchup.

In the afternoon we all went to watch the new Spider Man movie in the theater. Ocean could not sit still. It was partly the chair the kept folding up on him, partly his ADHD brain that wasn’t as engaged as I thought it would be. He can’t sit still during General Conference either, so at least it’s not just then. I don’t think we’ll be taking him to the theater again for awhile though.

The boys had brought toys in the car- apparently they thought we were going to the drive-in theater and they were looking forward to playing with toys and on the playground there. We’ve taken them to the drive-in several times, but I can’t remember the last time we took them to the theater. When Ocean was a baby for one of the Star Wars movies?

Tuesday morning Jeremy’s brother and Buddy headed home. Max enjoyed laying on the couch, undisturbed. Though I think she also misses her tug partner. I spent most of the day finishing my catch up posts, and I finally did it! Now to see if I can stay on top of it from here on out.

Wednesday I woke up super tired, so I got a slow start. I ran some errands with Ocean, but that’s about it.

Thursday I finally woke up not exhausted, but it took 8.5 hours of sleep to get there. Normally I wake up after 7 hours (which is why I aim for 7 hours of sleep a night), even if I have the option to sleep later. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m not complaining. Unfortunately, it was gray, drizzly day and clearing out my inboxes (Again. It’s never ending. At least there weren’t thousands and thousands of unread emails this time.) left me with a headache.

I wrote all the dates of things for the coming year in my new planner. Sunshine will have another busy summer with camps and such. I also decided which conventions to go to. I thought perhaps three, but I’m only going to do two: one in March (SC) and one in April (OH). I also thought about one in TX in July. It would almost be doable to do that one, then head straight to Idaho for a family reunion. but there would be a lot of driving to get from TX to ID. And since we’ll have a frantic drive from ID back home at the end of the reunion (which we’ll have to leave a couple days early), we don’t need it on the way there, as well.

Sunshine has FSY the day after we’re scheduled to get home. I’m hoping she doesn’t have to be there first thing in the morning…. The following week she has stake YW camp, then she has a week and a half off before heading to Seabase with her Scout troop (she’s skipping regular Scout camp, which is sure to be in July, but July is already fully scheduled). She’ll be 18 the next time our stake does FSY, so she needs to go to this one.

Skipping the TX convention will give us more leeway with our drive time out to ID and we can check out a few areas in MT and ID to see if they should be included in our future property search areas.

I had major insomnia Thursday night + Maxi slept on my legs and was super wiggly all.night.long = about 3 hours of crappy sleep. Maxi is not sleeping on my bed again anytime soon.

I had wanted to take Max for a walk Friday morning, but it was too wet, plus I had cramps, so it didn’t happen.

It was not nearly as productive a day as I’d hoped for, but I did some preliminary trip planning for our reunion trip this summer to make sure it’ll work. We’ll only be going to one reunion since the other one still needs to be scheduled, but we’re having a hard time finding a time that will work for everyone.

We stayed up watching Encanto and several episodes of Hawkeye for New Years Eve. River stayed up this year after trying unsuccessfully last year. Ocean made it till a little after 11, then conked out.

Saturday  I had wanted to take Max for a walk, but it rained in the early morning, so it was too wet.

Our Wavemaster came Thursday, a week earlier than expected, so I did a little rearranging in the basement so there’s room for it.

We also got some hand-held pads to practice with.

Before bed I prepped for Sunday. 9 am church means there’s no time to track things down before church, like clean pants for the boys because River hadn’t done laundry this week.

Insomnia the last 3 or 4 days has kept me up til 3 or 4 am every morning. The other days I was able to sleep in to compensate for the super late nights. Unfortunately, a 7am alarm meant I got about 3 hours of sleep Sunday morning. I managed to get up and moving and we made it to church on time, but I had a hard time staying awake during Sunday School.

I met with my class presidency and my new advisor after church, then went home to rest. I ended up taking a 10-15 minute nap and felt a lot better when I woke up. I’m hoping I can fall asleep at a decent time tonight- the nap wasn’t long enough to interfere with bedtime.

We had two weeks off of karate for the holidays, but the instructors made a video workout for everyone to do at home. it ended up being a lot of fun and was good family time. Though I will say that some of the games they had us doing felt like games that teenagers had come up with when they had too much time on their hands. They were good workouts, but had that silly, nonsensical vibe to them.
