Monday I woke up with a sore throat, but it was finally the perfect combination of not raining, hadn’t rained in enough days that the trails should be decent, and I didn’t have anything scheduled that had to be taken care of. So I took Max for a long-overdue trail run that the boys joined us on.

I wasn’t worried about River keeping up as he’s run with me enough and can outrun me at this point. Ocean was the the one who worried me, as he notoriously poops out and decides he’s done on runs and hikes. I allowed him to come with the understanding that he had to keep up, and he assured me he would. He did have to walk more than the rest of us, but he did a decent job of running and keeping up. Exercise is supposed to be good for ADHD, so I’ll see if I can get him to join us more often.

Afterwards I cut veg tan leather for course lesson materials. This was the leather sides that I needed to cut up, rather than just sort and trim scraps like I did a few weeks ago.

Sunshine and I went to her Scout Court of Honor that evening. She MC’d to fulfill a requirement for her communications merit badge. She does not like getting up in front of people, but she did a good job. She spoke clearly and loudly enough that we could hear (not always the case with previous MCs). And an added bonus was that there wasn’t a large turnout, so there were fewer people than usual (it is summer after all).

Tuesday morning my sore throat was worse and I wasn’t feeling great (fever, cough, etc), so we did music lessons online. I was supposed to do the grocery shopping afterwards, but I just felt crappy, so I laid in bed the rest of the day instead.

Wednesday I felt worse, so I finally took a covid test which immediately showed positive. I’d realized that how I was feeling mirrored how I felt after my second shot and my booster shot, so I suspected covid at that point. Jeremy’s brother and their nephew were having similar symptoms, so they probably have it, but no one else has shown any symptoms. I spent the day in bed again.

While I was laying in bed I also made arrangements for the family in our ward that’s also in our Scout troop to take over the cooking aspect of the YW campout scheduled for Thursday night and for the gear we were supposed to share with the girls to be picked up so it could still be used. Felt bad having to drop out at the last minute, but that’s how life is these days.

Maxi head snuggles- highly unusual, but I think she knew I wasn’t feeling well

Thursday I was still in bed, feeling crummy. Everyone else took covid tests, but everyone was negative except for the three of us who were already showing symptoms. Jeremy’s parents headed home first thing in the morning so they could get home in time to head to Idaho for the family reunion.

Friday I spent still in bed, feeling crummy.

Saturday I was still in bed, feeling crummy, though less so. I also finally started my new narcolepsy medication, which had finally arrived earlier in the week.

Sunday Jeremy’s brother and their nephew headed up to Boston. Their symptoms were milder to begin with, so they were feeling well enough to head out.

This was not a great week overall. I got covid, I had a filling fail (it’s still in my tooth, but has shifted and needs to be fixed, but I can’t get in for a couple weeks because of covid), and my period started. Happy Birthday to me.
